I used an old Irish linen napkin that had been made in Belfast to make this piece. Belfast has a rich linen history, old mills can be found all over the city. I have had the pleasure of talking to many women who worked in these mills as weavers and spinners. Linen was so important to Belfast the city was once commonly known as Linenopolis.
